The East Pines neighborhood, located near the State capital of Columbia, South Carolina, is located between Leesburg Road, Ulmer Road/Rawlingson Road, and Caughman Road on the east side of the city only a few minutes away from the Fort Jackson Army Base. Take Leesburg Road to Garners Ferry Road which will lead you straight in to the downtown area in less than 10 minutes. Just minutes from I-77, residents can find themselves anywhere in the Columbia, SC area or be on their way to anywhere in the southeast. Take I-77 south, and connect with I-26, placing you within about 2 hours of Charleston, SC or Asheville, North Carolina. I-26 west also intersects with I-20, placing you little more than 4 hours from Atlanta, Georgia. I-77 north also intersects with I-20, placing you within about 3 hours of Myrtle Beach, SC. Continue on I-77 north, and find Charlotte, NC in less than 2 hours. No matter where you may need to go, living in the East Pines neighborhood can put you close to almost anywhere.
Homes in the East Pines neighborhood are very affordable and located in a well-established neighborhood with some beautiful mature trees. The homes here range in value from below $40,000.00 to over $130,000.00. Sizes of the home average about 1500 square feet with some below 1300 and some around 2000 square feet. A lake is located near the community and some homes have a beautiful view. Homes here include such luxuries as wrap around porches, decks, 9 foot ceilings, heavy molding, bay windows, fire places, and open floor plans. Some are brick construction whereas some are newly renovated using vinyl. Living in the East Pines neighborhood places you close to the city while still providing a nice, quiet, suburban feel. The community is located near Caughman Road Park giving residents affordable access to a gym, racquetball courts, ball fields, a playground, picnic facilities, and even walking trails. Heading down Garners Ferry Road toward Columbia, residents can find almost any type of establishment desirable. Head in to the downtown area, and find plenty of options for shopping and dining, as well as a variety of museums, theaters, and parks to visit. The zoo is also nearby. On a beautiful day, head to one of the greenways along one of the two converging rivers providing a number of choices for walking, jogging, or biking in the area. There are also options for paddling or tubing along one of these rivers. With a number of local colleges in the area, there are also collegiate activities to choose from.
